Renew Your KOK Membership or Join Today!
For 2017-2018, we're mixing some well-loved classics, like our holiday party and our Art Alive outing, with exciting new events (mini golf, anyone?). KOK members enjoy a supportive community of sisters and valuable networking opportunities. Your membership dues help KOK support two local collegiate chapters--Iota Nu (UCSD) and Kappa Lambda (USD). A portion of your dues also goes to the national organization to keep Alpha Chi Omega strong across the country.
Ready to join? Simply fill out the registration form and pay online, or bring a check to the next event. And there's a special incentive to pay your dues early. Everyone who becomes a paying member by Monday, October 16, will be entered into a drawing for some special Alpha Chi Omega gear!
Get Involved with KOK
We're committed to increasing our membership this year, and we need your help! We're seeking a VP Membership, plus two members to work on membership recruitment and retention. If you were a superstar during collegiate recruitment, or if you're looking to give back to KOK, this is a great opportunity. For more details, contact KOK President Maya Botvinick.
Congratulations to Our Scholarship Recipients!
As part of our support for Iota Nu and Kappa Lambda, KOK funds two scholarships for deserving collegians. Get to know this year's recipients.
Amber Lord, Iota Nu Amber is a senior who just joined Alpha Chi Omega last year. She got involved right away by serving as parent relations chair, where she put out a quarterly newsletter and planned Parents Day, and as team captain for the attendance team, where she helped keep sisters motivated to attend chapter events. She also works as a college ambassador with the department of undergraduate admissions. Amber joined Alpha Chi because she was seeking sisterhood, support, and lasting friendships, and she looks forward to continuing her involvement even after graduation.
Olivia Rohlk, Kappa Lambda Olivia has help many positions with Kappa Lambda, including vice president of intellectual development, warden, programming representative, and personal development chair. Over spring break, she spent a week in Tijuana with University Ministries and volunteered at a home for abandoned women. Olivia says that membership in Alpha Chi has helped her become her best self, and she honored to be part of such an inspiring sisterhood.
Congratulations to Amber and Olivia!
Sisters Snaps
This is your space to celebrate notable career achievements, marriages, anniversaries, and births. Please submit news and photos to Alexa K. Apallas. If you don't, she'll continue to be one of the only members featured. And that will get boring quickly.
At Art Alive in April, KOK members visited the San Diego Museum of Art to view floral arrangements inspired by works of art. We also enjoyed lunch at the Prado. Rachel Corell, pictured here with Stephanie Sibley, was in attendance with Zoe, her adorable little legacy.
And to fill space, here's a photo of Alexa and her husband, Greg Bible. The couple celebrated their birthdays in style at the Ritz-Carlton in downtown L.A. Alexa cashed in all the Marriott Rewards points she earned while traveling back and forth to her job at PayPal to make it happen.
Convention is Coming! Get Ready to Amplify Alpha Chi
Save the date for this year's National Convention from June 29 through July 1 in Austin, Texas. Austin is known for its live music scene, making it the perfect place to honor Alpha Chi's musical heritage.
Philanthropy Corner
Last year, we had great success donating items to Carol's House, a shelter for victims of domestic violence. We delivered 30 fully-stocked bags in October and another 30 in April. Help us put together more bags this year by collecting and donating the following items:
Combs and brushes
Shampoo and conditioner (full size and travel size)
Soap
Deodorant
Razors
Feminine hygiene products (pads, not tampons)
Sunscreen
Makeup, especially mascara
Journals
Sewing kits

Nail care items and nail polish
Bring your donations to any event, or contact VP Philanthropy Donna Poey to arrange for dropoff.
