Alpha Chi Omega Hera Day
In honor of our patron goddess Hera, Alpha Chi Omegas dedicate themselves on this day to aid the happiness and well-being of others. Our remembrances include volunteering and fundraising for domestic violence shelters in local communities.

We're mixing some well-loved classics, like our holiday party and our Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday event, with exciting new events (ax throwing, anyone?). KOK members enjoy a supportive community of sisters and valuable networking opportunities. Your membership dues help KOK support three local collegiate chapters--Iota Nu (UCSD), Kappa Lambda (USD) and Iota Tau (CSUSM). A portion of your dues also goes to the national organization to provide Alpha Chi Omega the resources needed for alumnae programming for all.

Chapter Leadership Opportunities Still Open for 2020-2021

Calling all leaders! Here is your opportunity to enjoy the society of your sisters, network, cultivate new relationships and work with Real.Strong.Women. to advance the goals of the alumnae chapter. There are many roles available to choose from and the response form details general information for each role.
  • Alpha Chi-ndess: Send birthday cards, Shining Stars, reach out to any sisters in need assistance.
  • Ambassador: Welcome and integrate new members by pairing with current members.
  • ​Philanthropy Team Chair: Provide assistance to local domestic violence shelters and amplify the awareness and education of domestic violence through Alpha Chi Omega nationally.
  • Scholarship Chair (Spring February - April): Oversee scholarship process with the (3) collegiate chapters.
  • Slightly Older Sister Chair: Pair alumnae with seniors at UCSD, USD, CSUSM that will touch base with the senior from September - May. Invite them to monthly KOK events, check in regarding their sorority experience, provide a handwritten card for their Hall of Commitment and other correspondence you wish.

The term is until July 31, 2021.

Philanthropy Corner

Kappa Omicron Kappa supports Carol’s House in San Diego by providing “Welcome Bags” each year. We have an Amazon Wish List of the supplies we are in need of to assemble these bags. Items range from $2.99 to $19.46. We hope you can participate in this call for the shelter’s essential items. Thank you sisters!

News from Headquarters

Alpha Chi Omega Foundation Scholarships
All alumnae and collegiate members in good standing with Alpha Chi Omega and enrolled at an accredited college or university for the upcoming academic year can apply to receive scholarships from the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation to help pay educational expenses such as tuition, fees and course materials. Alumnae members do not need to be enrolled as full-time students.

Though funds are limited, there are several funds specifically designated for alumnae members finishing bachelor’s degrees or attending graduate school. Funds will be awarded by the Foundation’s volunteer Scholarships Committee based on evaluation of academic performance, application responses and other award criteria.

The application is open March 1-31, 2021. Award notifications will be made in early June 2021, and awards must be applied to 2021-22 academic year expenses. More information, including a link to the online application, can be found on our website.
