Southern California/Nevada Province/Career Day Recap
Lyres and pearls were on display as 300 women of Alpha Chi Omega gathered in Costa Mesa on March 5 to celebrate Province Day and sisterhood.
Career education and preparation is a big part of the event, but Province Day provides an opportunity for all Alpha Chi women to come together and bond. Collegians and alumnae all found value in the event, whether they attended a session to learn about a specific career or simply spent time reconnecting with old friends.
Alpha Chi Omega National President Angela Harris gave a moving speech on what being an Alpha Chi meant to her. Collegians eagerly gathered career information from mentoring alumnae at the roundtable events. Powerhouse speakers included Olga Mizrahi on personal branding, Cindy Ballard on salary and benefits negotiations, and Angela Park Sheldone on planning for retirement and living your best financial life.
Province Day showcased real, strong women at their best, taking a time out of their busy lives to give back to an organization that has given them so much. Women who haven’t seen each other in years were reunited with hugs and laughter. New friendships were formed over lunch. A pinning ceremony recognized women who have been Alpha Chi Omega members for 25, 50, 60, and even 75 years. The event was masterfully organized by KOK's own president, Maya Botvinick.
Thank you to the women who participated and attended. You are the reason Province Day was, and continues to be, a success.

Renew Your KOK Membership or Join Today!
KOK members enjoy wonderful sisterhood events, a supportive community, and valuable networking opportunities. But joining an alumnae chapter doesn't mean you have to attend every event. Your membership dues help KOK support two local collegiate chapters--Iota Nu (UCSD) and Kappa Lambda (USD). A portion of your dues also goes to the national organization to keep Alpha Chi Omega strong across the country.
This is your space to celebrate notable career achievements, marriages, anniversaries, and births. Please submit news and photos to Alexa K. Apallas.
Kappa Omicron Kappa took a (virtual) trip to the Mediterranean recently. Members learned about "The Sense-ual You" from Sohaila Handelsman, a professional belly dance artist, and soon they were all shaking their hips like pros! The event also featured delicious Middle Eastern cuisine.
Iota Nu Seeks Donations to Scholarship Fund
The Iota Nu chapter at UCSD is working to establish a memorial scholarship fund to honor sisters who have passed away, including the chapter's charter class president, Samantha Osheroff. Iota Nu's goal is to raise an additional $23,000 by June. If you'd like to make a donation, please contact Iota Nu charter member Joanna Rice—she can provide more information about the scholarship fund, along with instructions on how to donate.
It's Time for KOK's Annual Theater Excursion!
Each year, KOK supports the arts by attending a play. This year's selection is "Travels with My Aunt" by Graham Greene, a New York Times Critic's Pick in 2015. It's a life-changing, offbeat odyssey in which four versatile actors tackle more than 20 roles. To reserve your ticket for the matinee on Sunday, April 23, at the discounted group price of $33, contact Pauline Nutt.
