Renew Your KOK Membership or Join Today!

For 2019-2020, we're mixing some well-loved classics, like our holiday party and our Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday event, with exciting new events (ax throwing, anyone?). KOK members enjoy a supportive community of sisters and valuable networking opportunities. Your membership dues help KOK support two local collegiate chapters--Iota Nu (UCSD) and Kappa Lambda (USD). A portion of your dues also goes to the national organization to keep Alpha Chi Omega strong across the country.

Ready to join? You can pay online OR fill out the registration form, or bring a check to the next event. And there's a special incentive to pay your dues early. Everyone who becomes a paying member by Wednesday, October 15, will be entered into a drawing for some special Alpha Chi Omega gear!

Happy Founders' Day Challenge

Picture
Happy Founders' Day Challenge! During the month of October, the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation is celebrating, real, strong women like us and sisters across the country.

During Founders' Day Challenge, we can participate by donating to the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation and supporting the Real. Strong. Women. Fund. This is the best way to impact all Alpha Chi Omegas - collegians and alumnae alike. Gifts made during Founders' Day Challenge provide critical support for priority programs like Leadership Academy, Women & Wisdom (mentoring program), and volunteer training.

Join KOK (we've already donated!) in the challenge by CLICKING HERE to donate today!

Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Picture
For 27 years, Alpha Chi Omega has worked to combat domestic violence through our national philanthropy. This October, Alpha Chi Omega will be focusing our education and awareness efforts on power, control and the journey toward safety.

People who have never been abused often wonder why a person wouldn’t just leave an abusive relationship. There are many reasons why people stay, and often at the center is power and control. Leaving an abuser is the most dangerous time for a victim of domestic violence. The most important way to help someone is to give them the time, support and autonomy to make their own decisions to regain their power and control.

Join us in our fight against domestic violence by participating in our national initiatives while continuing to support efforts in your local communities.
  1. Use social media to raise awareness and educate. We’ve created social media graphics for you to use on your social media accounts. Access graphics here. Don’t forget to follow Alpha Chi Omega headquarters on social media pages to receive updates, facts, resources and more all month! Be sure to also use social media to engage your own audience, by posting photos of the work you do against domestic violence with the hashtag #AXODVAM.
  2. Participate in Experience the Life of a Victim, an online simulation created by our national partners at The Allstate Foundation to learn more about why the journey to safety is often the most dangerous for those affected by domestic violence. Complete the activity, share your thoughts with friends and spread awareness in your community.
  3. Share your time, talent and treasure. Whether you volunteer your time to serve, use your talents to assist with a special project, or give of your treasure to support an organization’s needs, give to your local domestic violence shelter or organization!
Our philanthropic work is a key part of the Alpha Chi Omega experience, and there are so many impactful opportunities to show your support for Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Join us in our efforts!

Get Involved with KOK

We're committed to increasing our membership this year, and we need your help! We're seeking a Membership and Scholarship Chair. If you loved collegiate recruitment, or if you're looking to give back to KOK, this is a great opportunity. For more details, contact KOK President Maya Botvinick.

Sister Snaps

This is your space to celebrate notable career achievements, marriages, anniversaries, and births. Please submit news and photos to Caitlin Nasseraddin. If you don't, she'll continue to be one of the only members featured. And that will get boring quickly.

News From Headquarters

Become a Mentor and a Mentee with Women & Wisdom
Have you joined Women & Wisdom yet? Women & Wisdom is Alpha Chi Omega’s premier online networking program that will allow you to sign up to be a mentee and/or a mentor to other Alpha Chi Omega members around the country! This interactive experience provides resources and tutorials to help guide mentors and mentees in developing impactful relationships, achieving goals, and gaining new skills and competencies.
Did you know: Alumnae have the opportunity to participate as mentors, mentees or both! Collegiate members in their junior and senior year are invited to participate as mentees. Get started by creating your mentoring profile today!
Mentoring sessions consist of three 1-hour meetings or sessions through a mutually selected platform such as Skype, FaceTime, Google Hangout, on the phone or in person. The expectation is that all three sessions are completed within the year; however, we hope your mentor/mentee connection continues beyond the scope of your sessions!
Sisters who are participating as mentees drive the matching process. They can search mentor profiles based on industry or professional interests. The mentee will reach out to a mentor to make the connection.
Interested in joining? Visit our Women & Wisdom page on the Alpha Chi Omega website. You will need to log into the Alpha Chi Omega website in order to sign up for the program and create your profile. There is also an informative orientation video available to get you acquainted with the program. If you have any questions, please email mentoring@alphachiomega.org. We hope you will join us (and encourage others to participate) in this exciting mentoring experience!
