​It's the most wonderful time of the year! Kappa Omicron Kappa invites you to join your sisters for a festive holiday celebration. We will have a gift exchange (maximum $20) and a potluck.

We're mixing some well-loved classics, like our holiday party and our Mardi Gras Fat Tuesday event, with exciting new events (ax throwing, anyone?). KOK members enjoy a supportive community of sisters and valuable networking opportunities. Your membership dues help KOK support three local collegiate chapters--Iota Nu (UCSD), Kappa Lambda (USD) and Iota Tau (CSUSM). A portion of your dues also goes to the national organization to provide Alpha Chi Omega the resources needed for alumnae programming for all.

Chapter Leadership Opportunities for 2022-2023

Calling all leaders! Here is your opportunity to enjoy the society of your sisters, network, cultivate new relationships and work with Real.Strong.Women. to advance the goals of the alumnae chapter. There are many roles available to choose from and the response form details general information for each role. The term is from August 1, 2022 - July 31, 2023.

Programming Team
  • Monthly Events: Craft a variety of fun and engaging events that all members can/will participate in.

Collegiate Relations Team
  • Chapter Liaison: Support chapter with Recruitment, events, philanthropy, fundraising
  • Scholarship Chair (Spring February - April): Oversee scholarship process with the (3) collegiate chapters.
  • Slightly Older Sister Chair: Pair alumnae with seniors at UCSD, USD, CSUSM that will touch base with the senior from September - May. Invite them to monthly KOK events, check in regarding their sorority experience, provide a handwritten card for their Hall of Commitment and other correspondence you wish.

Communications Team
  • VP Communications: Oversee Communications Team, update website and email blasts
  • Newsletter: Monthly newsletter
  • Social Media: post to FB and Instagram monthly events, newsletters, birthdays, etc.

Membership Team
  • Alpha Chi-ndess: Send birthday cards, Shining Stars, reach out to any sisters in need of assistance.
  • Ambassador: Welcome and integrate new members by pairing with current members.
  • Recruitment: Grow KOK membership, inclusive of all generations and engagement level abilities

Philanthropy Team
  • Chair: provide assistance to local and regional philanthropic organizations through their own planned events.

Philanthropy Corner

Kappa Omicron Kappa supports Carol’s House in San Diego by providing “Welcome Bags” each year. We have an Amazon Wish List of the supplies we are in need of to assemble these bags. Items range from $2.99 to $19.46. We hope you can participate in this call for the shelter’s essential items. Thank you sisters!

News from Headquarters

EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE GRANT APPLICATION OPENS SOON
The next Alpha Chi Omega Foundation educational assistance grant application will be open December 1-19. Once available, the online application will be linked on the Foundation page of the website. 
There are a number of grants that will be awarded based on information submitted through a central application, including several specifically for alumnae finishing undergraduate degrees and completing graduate degrees! 
Members are encouraged to begin their application early as several pieces of information are required as well as a recommendation from a chapter or academic advisor. Email Erin Parks, Foundation operations manager, with any questions.
DIGITAL LYRE MAGAZINE NOW AVAILABLE
Did you see the news? The Lyre is now available online! We hope you’ll share the digital version of Alpha Chi Omega’s magazine with your alumnae chapter members each quarter so sisters can stay in the loop and enjoy stories of real, strong women.
In addition to our digital offering, alumnae members who have reached the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation’s Life Loyal Roll through cumulative gifts of $299 or more receive The Lyre in print four times a year. Visit the Life Loyal Roll page of our website to learn more.  
If you have any story ideas for The Lyre or the Alpha Chi Omega blog about a sister or your chapter, submit them in our Share Your Story form.
