We're an Award-Winning Chapter!

At Alpha Chi Omega’s 59th Convention, our president, Maya Botvinick, accepted the  Seeking the Heights Award for Communications on behalf of the Kappa Omicron Kappa Alumnae Chapter. This award goes to a chapter that has demonstrated outstanding communications across multiple platforms—website, social media, newsletters, email, and more.

The KOK Board met in September 2015 to set goals, and our first priority for the 2015-2016 term was to strengthen communications. We worked toward our goal by distributing a monthly newsletter; sending email blasts to 799 sisters and mailing letters to 686 sisters inviting them to renew their KOK membership or join for the first time, revamping our website; creating up-to-date KOK documents, such as bylaws, a membership roster, and minutes; sending birthday wishes and cards to current and past members; submitting photos to the Lyre magazine each quarter; posting to Facebook regularly. Thank you to our amazing KOK board and especially to Alexa for brilliantly and diligently creating the newsletter, Facebook posts, and email blasts!

All About Convention

The 59th Convention was held June 24 through June 26 in Orlando, Florida.  Sisters attended educational sessions, elected the 2016-2018 National Council, and interacted with other sisters and friends from across the country.  The Alpha Chi Omega Foundation raised $216,000, surpassing its goal of $200,000.  KOK donated $100 to the foundation by purchasing “stars” to honor members of our chapter.

Sister Snaps

Watch this space for news of your sisters' major life events, such as notable career achievements, engagements, marriages, and births. We'll also share fun photos of Alpha Chis at KOK events and out and about in the community. Please submit news and photos to Alexa K. Apallas.

Sisterhood on Display at Convention
Several KOK members attended convention and had a wonderful time in Orlando. Maya Botvinick and Linda Sheldone shared a moment, Stephanie Sibley and Brooke Stites met up with other sisters, including Kappa Lambda president Ashley May, and Linda and Stephanie got all gussied up!

Congratulations to our Scholarship Recipients

KOK recently awarded two scholarships of $300 each, one to a collegian at Kappa Lambda and one to a collegian at Iota Nu. We had many qualified applicants, and we are pleased to announce the scholarship winners.
