For 2017-2018, we're mixing some well-loved classics, like our holiday party and our Art Alive outing, with exciting new events (mini golf, anyone?). KOK members enjoy a supportive community of sisters and valuable networking opportunities. Your membership dues help KOK support two local collegiate chapters--Iota Nu (UCSD) and Kappa Lambda (USD). A portion of your dues also goes to the national organization to keep Alpha Chi Omega strong across the country.
Ready to join? Simply fill out the registration form and pay online, or bring a check to the next event. And there's a special incentive to pay your dues early. Everyone who becomes a paying member by Monday, October 16, will be entered into a drawing for some special Alpha Chi Omega gear!

Get Involved with KOK
If you read the story above, you may have noticed that we have a couple of blank spaces on our board. Can we write your name? We're seeking a VP Membership for a position that requires just a couple of hours each month. Several of the tasks are already complete for 2017, including updating and sending the membership recruitment letter. We're looking for someone who can recruit members from our database and stay in touch with current members--all materials will be provided by KOK. If you were a superstar during collegiate recruitment, or if you're looking to give back to KOK, this is a great opportunity.
We're also looking for someone to handle collegiate relations with the Kappa Lambda chapter at USD. This position requires approximately three hours a month. You'll work with the Kappa Lambda president, chapter advisor, and alumnae relations chair to determine how KOK can support Kappa Lambda during recruitment. You'll also get updates on chapter activities to pass along to KOK and place in The Carnation Post. Finally, you'll plan and prepare for Hall of Commitment and invite the graduating members.
Our September kickoff event was a success, with 16 dues-paying sisters in attendance! Check out a few photos in the "Sister Snaps" section below.

Sisters Snaps
This is your space to celebrate notable career achievements, marriages, anniversaries, and births. Please submit news and photos to Alexa K. Apallas.
On September 12, KOK members rallied to kick off a new season of fun sisterhood events. In keeping with the autumn tailgating theme, sisters wore their school colors.
Join the Founder's Day Challenge
Alpha Chi Omega is celebrating the 25th anniversary of supporting domestic violence awareness as its national philanthropy. This year, the Founders’ Day Challenge will be painted purple to show our support.
When: October 2 - 25, 2017
What: Alpha Chi Omega's total fundraising goal for Founders’ Day Challenge is $165,000. Donors will have the ability to direct their giving to three programs – Real. Strong. Women Fund ($115,000 goal), Domestic Violence Awareness Programming ($25,000 goal), and Let’s Talk Love ($25,000 goal).
Impact 25 Chapters: Alpha Chi Omega will honor the first 25 collegiate and alumnae chapters to lock in their participation at 100%. They will be recognized during the campaign on social media and named an Impact 25 Chapter.
Volunteers: Campaign ambassadors and the collegiate fundraising committee will spread awareness for the campaign. Campaign ambassadors will promote the Founders’ Day Challenge on social media.
Community Grant: Community grants will be awarded during the Founders’ Day Challenge to individual members and chapters. Starting October 2nd, we’re asking members to show their love for Alpha Chi Omega using the hashtag #AXOFDCLOVE. Each week, a new winner will be awarded a $1,000 grant for their local women’s shelter. Alpha Chi Omega will also award three Impact 25 chapters with $1,000 grants for their local women's shelter. All winners will be announced on Facebook Live.
Spotlight Your Business Through "Shopping With Your Sisters"
KOK is launching an innovative new fundraiser called "Shopping with Your Sisters." Members who own their own business are encouraged to advertise with KOK. For $18.85 per month, you'll get a number of benefits. We'll place your logo and a direct link to your website on the KOK site, we'll include your logo in our monthly newsletter, we'll feature your business in an upcoming newsletter article, we'll promote your business through our social channels, and more.
The money we raise from this program will support two collegiate chapters (Iota Nu at UCSD and Kappa Lambda at University of San Diego), Carol's House shelter for victims of domestic violence, and the Alpha Chi Omega Foundation.

Save the date for this year's National Convention from June 29 through July 1 in Austin, Texas. Austin is known for its live music scene, making it the perfect place to honor Alpha Chi's musical heritage.
Philanthropy Corner

Combs and brushes
Shampoo and conditioner (full size and travel size)
Soap
Deodorant
Razors
Feminine hygiene products (pads, not tampons)
Sunscreen
Makeup, especially mascara
Journals
Sewing kits
Post-Its
Pens
Hand sanitizer
Nail care items and nail polish
Bring your donations to any event, or contact VP Philanthropy Donna Poey to arrange for dropoff.
